I've had a passion for meditation and mind-body training since the age of 12 when I started learning to concentrate and sense inner body awareness doing weight training in my basement. At 22, I had a transcendent experience on a month long backpacking trip through the desert that opened my mind to the stillness, silence, and vast spaciousness of Awareness itself. I came back from this trip excited to understand how to cultivate this experience of profound peace and inner freedom and integrate it in my life.

While getting my Masters Degree in Philosophy, specializing in the phenomenology of consciousness, I began to practice T'ai Chi. This led me to Qigong Meditation, Reiki, Kriya Yoga, and HeartMath practices, among many others. For the past 40 years, I've had the joy to share meditative practices with students all over the world. Over that time, I wrote the book "Clear Quiet Mind" and co-authored the book, "Raising Our Vibration: A Guide to Subtle Energy Meditation," as well as publishing over 100 articles on meditation and awareness practices. Now, in my sixties, it's come clear to me that personalized instruction and one-on-one support are key to helping you realize the powerful benefits of meditative skills and states. While not necessary to meditate, biosensing devices can offer valuable insight for those who feel inclined toward this kind of data. Here's me in the lab meditating with EEG, Skin Conductivity, Temperature, and Heartrate sensors. My lab visits taught me a lot about biosensing related to meditation and what Muse, Flowtime and other home level devices can offer.
